So, I followed this tutorial (Link) and cut myself a few (2 1/2 inch) patches.
I stitched them together... one four-patch for the front and one four patch for the back... I stuffed it and sewed up the gap. I almost didn't add the ribbon... but I'm so pleased that I did, it looks so much prettier with the 'loopy' ribbon. Then all there was left to do was to add the button.
So, here is my pretty little four patch pincushion and I think I'm going to keep it, despite Rosie's idea of giving to a school friend of hers. I suppose I should be flattered ( :) )
You could make one too ....
Thank you for the tutorial, Andrea!
You are very welcome Julia, glad to see that the tutorials are of use. Lovely ribbon too. I do not think that you can have too many pincushions, a bit like handbags really!

I'm making a batch of these for pressies - one for myself! Just got a few pearl-ended pins to add to each too.

A friend made me one of these, and I love it. It's such a simple pattern, yet looks so tricky to accomplish.
