We're creating ourselves an allotment in the corner of this field, we began it last year fighting back the brambles and the nettles. Himself, fancied a flame thrower but that seemed a bit like extreme gardening to me. It must be a man thing ' cos dear son liked that idea too, even offered to help....
As you can see, there is some work still to be done.....phew! Deep beds I think.. but it's exciting. Especially, as at some point soonish there should be chickens and bees and I've wanted to keep both for just about forever.
Today, I've been parcelling up pretty orders...
... if one of those orders is yours.... thank you. I also sense from the orders I've had over the last week that I'm not the only one that thinks spring is coming, with orders for skirts sewing patterns and pretty summer tops.
... some Moda solids, a couple of Amy Butler fabrics, Anna Maria Horner fabric and Martha Negley fabric....
Anyway, with spring on my mind, I've had a bit of a sort out and re-arrangement of the shop fabrics and I've a few pieces with no proper home. They are what's left from the end of fabric bolts and a couple of fat quarters, so they are either odd lengths or don't belong anywhere particularly and are messing up the system..... a bit harsh maybe.
But, if you'd like to give these pieces of fabric a home just leave me a comment. It's open to anyone, from just about anywhere and on Monday, 23rd March, I'll use one of those ramdom number generators (because that seems fair) to see whose 'new' home it is they're going too.
I love the idea of an allotment. I spent many a day on my pa's allotment, weeding, cleaning, planting etc. I always intended to have one in my current garden, but it's an absolute tip. Perhaps seeing your photo will inspire me.
Pretty fabric, too
